Violent drunks kicked out of Surfers Paradise could also be banned from Broadbeach with police looking to combine the precincts under new laws targeting alcohol-fuelled violence.
The Safe Night Out Strategy kicked off across Queensland on Friday night and Chief Superintendent Des Lacy said a number of banning orders had already been handed out on the Coast.
“In the first two nights between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach we had 79 arrests and nine people issued with a police banning order,” he said.
