Drunk, drugged and violent a day’s work for paramedics

Paralytic and drug addled patients are a regular part of weekend nightshift work for Toowoomba’s paramedics.

Advanced care paramedics Winston Lobegeier and Allison McPhee said Friday and Saturday night shifts in the CBD were becoming increasingly busy with drunk, drugged and violent people making up a large part of their cases.

Mr Lobegeier has worked in Toowoomba as a paramedic for more than 15 years while Ms McPhee has worked in the city for more than five years.
