Staff at the Byron Bay Hospital’s emergency department are taking it upon themselves to record whether alcohol is factor in admissions.
Doctor Graham Truswell began the study at the start of schoolies festivities in November last year.
He says there is good data from police about alcohol-related harm, but none when it comes to hospital admissions.
