Hospital emergency units tell how alcohol-related cases disrupt treatment of others

Emergency patients are having treatment disrupted and delayed because hospitals are overwhelmed by alcohol-fuelled incidents, doctors have warned. A survey of 92 emergency departments across Australia has revealed that up to one in three patients attending hospital at 2am last Saturday was as a result of alcohol abuse.
