Danny Green fights to make a change to attitudes outside the ring

There is anger and a desperation in Danny Green’s voice that seems to take over his whole body when he talks about the scourge of what has been dubbed the ‘coward punch’ and how it is destroying innocent young lives.

“We gotta get a shift in culture mate, I know I’m banging on here but I’m adamant we’ve got to get people thinking the same way – that it’s a shameful, low act to do that to someone,” says Green, who barely draws breath for three minutes.

It’s as if Green is as agitated and worked up about the one-punch street violence causing unimaginable heartache for families as he ever was stepping in the ring.
